Re: Police investigating FGM in community
Ozdundee: I am not an advocate for the prick in bohra girls so you have no grounds to argue me on this because I am not arguing in favor of the tradition. I am arguing in favor of freedom to practise our own individual beliefs. You have personal reasons for wanting this to stop and I can respect tha...

"Groping is sexual abuse so there is no excuse to commit it. Bohra style fgm is fgm" Reply: I agree that groping is wrong. I am appalled that you consider groping and rape the same - that is a disgraceful opinion to have for any person. There are degrees for fgm too and targeting bohras is...

Re: Police investigating FGM in community
I am strongly against fgm and would never allow it in my own family but this case brings up major concerns for me. Fgm is a really serious problem in many immigrant populations and often severe enough that it causes psychological damage, disfigurement and death but the type of fgm ranges from commun...

Agnostic bohras and atheist bohras are a major growing contingent of the community that remain a part of the community because of family and cultural reasons. Re: Suggestions for 2014, for the PDB portal
Improvements in the forum technology will likely carry the greatest weight in terms of impact. The open discussion with moderate DBs such as Zinger, very religious DBs with unflexible positions (such as Adam, murtaza2152 and badrijanab), progressive DBs (S. Insaf) , Qutbi DBs (Qutbi_Londoner) , gay ...

Im very confused about the nass situation. Neither camp has a legally credible argument for nass. Typically, the time after a stroke is the worst for incapacitation and over time, the person improves not the other way around. The idea that immediately after a major stroke, SMB sat up and declared nu...

I think a degree of disillusionment is setting in with many people, most people are keeping quiet because as a community we do not generally make waves and the therefore the majority appear to be settling with SMS.

This site is misleading and the use of a wrong title is a shallow tactic to use. The points being made maybe well thought through and potentially correct or incorrect but the misleading title of the website and the subtitle is firmly intended to lead those that are interested in supporting Syedna Qu...

Well with all due respect AZ, this is just your opinion. Before DBL started responding to Anajmi's posts (which even I struggle to understand), I was finding some of the things DBL had to say of interest. I think a conversation between Humanbeing and DBL would be particularly interesting because Hum...

I agree with Grayson that it would be wrong to dismiss db Londoner as I think his opinion is reflective of several people in the community that I know. DB Londoner was sidetracked by anti Shia postings that detracted his focus away from some valuable points that he had to make about the community an...

Our DB community probably has the strongest record of women getting secular educations relative to other equivalent communities. I think this should be a matter of pride in our community and something we build on.

Re: Farman Al Vazarat us Saifya for Women
I agree with Zinger on his thoughts. This is also my current view of Aqua Moula. That he is a human being, capable of errors like all other humans but a man of very high piousness, high moral character and a man immensely well suited to providing religious guidance to the dawoodi bohra community. Th...

Media asking muslims to condemn terrorists that have nothing to do with them and you asking DBs to condemn a criminal that has nothing to do with them is exactly the same sort of discrimination. Re: Scandal of Bradford Jamat
In America, muslims are often asked by the media to apologize for the actions of terrorists. My gut response to this is generally to think that why should muslims apologize or be mandated to come out and criticize these terrorists when they have nothing to do with them, are not represented by them a...

Re: Where is this Forum Headed? It's aims are confusing.
There is no question in my mind that some of the money given in wajebaat is skimmed including the purported 10% that goes to Amils but I still contend that a significant proportion of the funds are used to benefit jamaats and jamaat members. Example that I know of: A jamaat wanted to buy new land to...

Id like to have a shot at these questions: I m touched with Adam’s concern on Dawoodi Bohra Issues. I agree with him and we shall now focus on issue concerning Dawoodi Bohras. Let start then.. According the DB belief, if a bohra does not pay sabeel and wajebaat (other taxes except zakat) can they qu...

Im pleased that you are not anti-shia but you have stated clearly in a previous post that the raison d'etre for your presence on this board is to convert people to the sunni faith. In this respect, you are clearly making very little to no progress.
