Re: WHY BOHRA'S ARE NOT ALLOWED TO READ QURAN WITH TRANSLAT

Both Hifz (Memorization) and Qira'at (Recitation) are important. It is to the credit of Bohras that they have recently taken these subjects seriously and I have been impressed by many who have not only memorized the whole of Juz 30 but also by the fact that they have learned to recite the Quran with...

Nietzsche, I feel your pain. Extremist Wahhabis are Satan's handmaidens. Quran does not encourage violence. It promulgates self-defence and commands attack only when attacked. It commands forgiveness of enemies if they relent or repent. Quran asks us to use our intellect to affirm faith and it does ...

So he created jinns from fire (heat), a denser form of energy, which bred in them susceptibility to rebellion but none for remorse. Jinns quickly became jealous of angels and dwelt in eternal inferiority complex. God quickly got bored with that. He wanted something more challenging. So He assembled...

When Adam was paraded in front of angels and jinns they were awe-struck by his intellect and, with a little prompting from God, they all prostrated to God for such a magnificent achievement. (Quran says they prostrated to Adam but I think they prostrated to God.) though not relevant to the topic, b...

Re: How did angels know man would be corrupt?

God gives guidance for the vicegerents to rise above corruption. So why do we find that we have a 'hierarchy' among His vicegerents and those supposedly on the higher rungs and closest to Him are among the most corrupt? They are man made vicegerents without any Quranic or Prophetic senction. Phony ...

Was God so lacking in 'joy' that He created humans? Actually, I thought He is self-sufficient in all entities, material or abstract. However, let us not dismiss the idea. I was referring to the world "AL IDDAH" not just "IDDAH". Focus is on the ALIF & LAAM. When they are added to a word, they become SPECIFIC. Hence it is talking about a FIX amount. Just like the first line of Surah Baqarah says, that is THE Book (Quran) "al Kitab". ...

When your Lord said to the angels, “I am placing a successor on earth.” They said, “Will You place in it someone who will cause corruption in it and shed blood, while we declare Your praises and sanctify You?” He said, “I know what you do not know.”[2:30] Why would God want to put a vicegerent on ea...

I understand that a woman can lead prayers for an all-female group, or a mixed group consisting of her own family . That is tradition and not a restriction from the Quran. As far as Bohras are concerned, Imam (for prayer) can only be the person with 'Raza'. If he is not available, then men and women...

Lailatul Qadr allegedly is the night when God, in the heavens, conducted the Shaadi of Amir-il Mumineen (AS) and Moulatena Fatema (AS) and it is also allegedly the night when Quranic revelations on the Prophet (PBUH) commenced. At least that's the significance of the night as per Bohra doctrine. So...

Yes. You can fix the number of fasts in Ramadan at 29 or 30. Then stick to it. Do not go changing them year after year and do not bother waiting for your leaders to sight the moon. Stick to Quran and discount hadith.

Adam/Progticide, I accept that there are others besides the Prophet who can intercede if they have Allah's permission. My point is that the Quran does not specify who they are. I have explained that the word iddah is also used for fasting on days missed due to sickness or travel. What is the fixed number that you have assigned to those fasts? This is for the self styled expert in Arabic and the Quran. عَدّ = 'adda, to count. It is a verb. عَدّة = 'idda(t), variable number...
