Re: Saudi Arabia removed ban on Syedna Burhanuddin

Al Zulfiqar, Relating to your post, I once happened to ask the same question in person to an educated orthodox dawoodi bohra (definitely more mannered and civilised than some of the ortho fools on this forum). Since I'm a humanitarian worker, I asked him what does our community do for the people. Th...

Re: A question to the progressives

My personal opinion: After reading Humsafar's comment, the running of our community centrally has become very much like Catholicism. From my reading and research about Catholic church and the corruption in Vatican, the running of our community by the royal family sounds like a smaller version of wha...

Re: A question to the progressives

Profestian, Thank you for the explanation. Assuming all you said is true, I might jump to the like_minded's bandwagon where there's no force. I don't like to give 2.5% of my income to the community who can't account to me what will they do with it. This is what I don't like about the community. You ...

Re: Rooms filled with money in Saifee mahal

How inhumane!Such a selfish statement made there. Agreed, they are not mumin. But they are still human beings. Biologically they are exactly the same as us. It wasn't their fault that they were born in Haiti to 'non-mumin' parents and that they happened to be there at the time of earthquake. There ...

Re: Some questions about dawoodi bohras

May I also add that the questions I posted above are not intended to make fun of orthodox dawoodi bohras. I am genuinely looking for answers. Every other place I asked, I was told that 'because moula has said so, we believe it; we cannot question what he's said'. But that blind trust can only come i...

Re: A question to the progressives

After reading all the posts i have come to the conclusion that you guy dont really believe in the current DAI-e-zaman being the appointed DAI by Imam. So my question is,"what do you guys really believe in?" 1) Do you believe in the imam? If you do what kind of belief. What kind of powers ...

Re: Some questions about dawoodi bohras

Re: Some questions about dawoodi bohras

I got some more info about the marriage guy's goofup at rasme saifee in marol. After that incedent (that I mentioned above), they called up the entire jamaat from each city i.e. aamil and all tanzims in a conference like thing called 'Tabedaat' in Surat. The only instruction given to all there was t...

Re: Great Men

Admirer, Let me first make it clear that I'm not against moula or him being in his position, I consider him as our dai-uz-zamaan. But can you please explain how did he earn all the respect? By being born in the royal family and then becoming dai. Is that it? Tell me the good things he did for the pe...

Re: is progressive a different religion....

Guy . I go to lot Sunni as well Jafferia Mosques, there are no fighting for superiority as they do have election to elect Board and they hire an Imam ( not in sense of Shia belief) to lead prayers and do regular teaching or Dawah. The Board have more authority as against Bohras where Aamil has auth...

Some questions about dawoodi bohras

Everyone, I have some questions about our community that the aamil's or the so called 'din na jankaar' couldn't answer. I hope I can find some answers here: 1. Why are we asked to keep beards? Specially during marriages. It looks gross and spoils the wedding photos. 2. Why have kurta-saya become com...

Re: Dawoodi Bohras

Mubarak, That's very shallow of you. Cutting cakes on birthdays is not a Christian tradition. Its rather a part of western lifestyle. Came into force more so in the 18th century in Germany and then spread to the western countries in the 19th century. I would not really criticise moula for ONE modern...

I'm new here and I wanted to see the picture, but couldn't see it since its been removed. Maybe in future if someone discovers something of the sort, they can take a screenshot of the screen and email it to admin to post on the blog here. Screenshot would be good as it would show the website as well.

Re: Rooms filled with money in Saifee mahal

haqqun nafs, So the people of Haiti are voodoo black magic stuff. I see. Can you explain to me all the so called 'mojizas' that are claimed by dawoodi bohras? I question the stuff happening outside the Galiakot roza. The black magic voodoo stuff that us dawood bohras deal with is considered to be 'm...
