"Royal" Family

The one and only free public forum for Bohras. The focus of this forum is the reform movement, the Dawoodi Bohra faith and, of course, the corrupt priesthood. But the discussion is in no way restricted to the Bohras alone.

Well said Phoenix.

And to just add to what Phoenix has said, the list of Hudoods is pretty elaborate in hierarchical order specifying the distinct responsibility, function and rank of each one of them. For example, Syedi Sadiq ali sahab who is famous for penning some very popular nasihats recited even today, ranked 11 in the hierarchical order at one time.

Is Syedi Sadiq Ali Saheb still alive?

if not, then is he the one buried in Surat who's Roza is in Begampura? The person buried there, we have always know him as, is Sheikh Sadiq Ali Saheb.

My apologies if i am wrong and i pronounced a living person as dead.

Thanks Boharaji, yes he was indeed a great gazalkar of his time.I know about him very well ,very famous gazal singer pankaj udhas had sung many gazals of him.I will post If i get one of his gazal which is my all time favorite gazal Phari e j rangili ramat adam thi shekhadam sudhi.

What ever Pankaj Udhas is today is because of Shaikh. Adam Shaikh Adam uses simple urdu in his ghazals and that can be understood easily by the Hindi speaking people. It was Shaikh Adam who sugessted Pankaj Udhas to sing his simple poetry. Thus Pankaj Udhas became the ghazal singer who could be understood by the common man.

MARRIAGE :

Amatullah Aaisaheba, who was born in Surat on 15th Zilhaj 1338 Hijri (18-08-1921) and brought up in a family devoted to the Islamic way of life; and who was the third in the line of six children born to Ateka Baisaheba and Abdulhusain Bhaisaheb Saifuddin , a family that traces its lineage to Syedna Abdulqadir Najmuddin(AQ) and Syedna Qutbuddin Shaheed(AQ), and whose misaq was taken at the age of fourteen; was chosen at a very tender age by the 51st Dai-al-Mutlaq Syedna Taher Saifuddin(AQ) for His son and successor Syedna (TUS).

On 27th Zilqada 1354 Hijri corresponding to 19th February,1936, when Syedna(TUS) was of 21 years’ age and Amatullah Aaisaheba was at 16, the wedding of Syedna was solemnised in Surat with customary grandeur. The celebrations that were held to mark the occasion were grand and unprecedented and were named "Al-Milak al-Agar". A wedding so grand had never before been witnessed in Surat. Syedna Taher Saifuddin(AQ) has described the event in his personal diary stating, thus :

"The marriage function surpassed in magnificence and joy the marriages of all previous Doat. Followers from all parts of India and abroad came as guests to Surat for the occasion and elaborate arrangements were made by Dai al-Mutlaq, for their stay."

"The premises of Jamea Saifiyah, where the ceremonies were held, wore the image of a bride, glittering in the light shed by myriad points of illumination. Those who loved us and those who were high in office shared with us the great joy of the occasion."

It is not a matter of coincidence but a well destined by Allah Subhanahu and thoughtfully followed by Syedna Taher Saifuddin(AQ) that Syedna(TUS) had a wife with the name of Amataullah Aaisaheba who had been 5th one by such name to become ‘aaqila’ (wife) of Al-Dai-al-Mutlaq holding office sofar. The others had been :-

Being 1st – Amatullah Aaisaheba had been ‘aaqila’ of 43rd Dai Syedna Abde Ali Saifuddin(RA) son of Syedi Jiwanjee Saheb(AQ) resting in peace at Jamnagar (16 Jumadil Awwal 1215).

Being 2nd – Amatullah Aaisaheba had been ‘aaqila’ of 45th Dai Syedna Taiyab Zainuddin(RA) resting in peace at Surat(07 Ramadan 1247).

Being 3rd – Amatullah Aaisaheba had been ‘aaqila’ of 46th Dai Syedna Mohd. Badruddin(RA) resting in peace at Surat. She was Shahzadi of Syedna Taiyab Zainuddin(RA) (23 Jumadil Awwal 1255).

Being 4th – Amatullah Aaisaheba had been ‘aaqila’ of 49th Dai Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin(RA) and respected mother of Syedna Taher Saifuddin(RA) and grand mother of our Aqa Maula(TUS) resting in peace at Bombay (04 Zilqad 1312).

I don't know if this issue has been discussed before .

Can it be explained how decades ago SMS claimed to be SMB favourite in big occasions ,while his 2 elder brothers were around. was sms likely to be the chosen one if Husayn BS was alive ? is it at all common the 3Rd son by passes 2 living sons of SMB and a Mazoon to the throne. Such a move to groom the 3Rd son would have been quite obvious and cause fractures in loyalty.

is his marriage to YNs daughter a factor that was in flight all these decades.

Was QJ right to leadership bought out for his desire of wealth .

SMS quickly giving prominence to his eldest son Jaffer Sadiq is part of the play. why did SMB never call himself Abu QJ or Abu Mufadal S. which would be technically incorrect.
porus wrote:The most important member of Qasr-e-Aali is of course Sayedna Muhammad Burhanuddin, the 52nd Dai. He was married once only to Lady Amatullah who died in London and is buried in the Husaini Masjid in Alperton. Kothar wanted to bury Amatullah I-Saheba and build her mausoleum in the then unfinished Husaini Masjid. On their own, they could not get the Government permission to bury her there. Hence they approached Gulamhussein Noon, a progressive and wealthy Bohra residing in London to use his influence to obtain the permission, which he did. Mr Noon has since been elevated to the British House of Lords.

Lady Amatullah bore Sayedna seven sons and three daughters.

Sons (Eldest to youngest) are:

1. Qaaid Johar Izzuddin

He is in charge of overall administration of Daawat, a role he inherited from YN. He had apparently expressed disinclination from succeeding to the Daiship, although as an eldest son, he could have been a candidate. So much for the Hidden Imam appointing the Dai!

2. Malik al-Ashtar Shujauddin

He is considered an intellectual light-weight. He has reputation for living it up, going to bed at 3 or 4 am and not getting up before 11 am or noon, thus missing Fajr prayers. He invariably arrives late for appointment, even for Namaaz and Waez. He is known to indulge in both self-glorification and glorification of the Dai for an unwarranted long time. When her sister Sakina died, he once made mumineen cry for an hour because he kept saying that Dai was extremely distressed at his daughter's death.

3. Mufaddal Saifuddin (Mansoos, he will be the 53rd Dai)

He likes to hunt lions. There is an abode in Serengeti which was used as a 'backdrop' in the Disney movie 'Lion King'. Let us wish the lions well. Serengeti and other National Parks are the last outposts for large cats and other wildlife. Black Rhino is almost extinct in the Ngorongoro Crater. You would have to drive for days to spot one. Hunting for pleasure of this wealth adds to the wilful disturbance of fine eco-balance that nature has created after millions of years of natural evolution.

4. Huzefa Mohiyuddin (Recently Deceased)

He was in charge of 'daras' and appointment of Aamils. He is famous for sending a message, shortly after his death, from Heaven to Mufaddal Saheb stating that he has been received by Panjatan Pak.

5. Idris Badruddin

6. Qusai Vajihuddin

7. Ammar Jamaluddin

Daughters (Eldest to youngest) are:

1. Husaina

2. Batool. I am not sure but her husband, Moiz, is Sayedna's personal doctor and does not leave his side as far as possible.

3. Sakina (deceased). She died from cancer.
