dear all,
this question has always left me wondering, that the era of Rasulullah(saw) and all panjatan(as) was not of stone age. so why is it that there are no paintings or portraits of all this great personalities. As sketching and portrait art is yet older. none of the books show portraits. some sites do claim to show some old daily used things of Prophets(saw) and their grand children's time but why no pics?.
i do understand it would have been idol ism after that but somewhere in history it would have been like relics. kindly shed light if anybody knows about this.

The Irani and Ithna ashari shias display photos during Mohurrum juloos which are alleged to be of Mola Ali (a.s.) and Imam Hussain (a.s.), now how far are they authentic is the moot question.
