Naik says he has the support of the Deobandis.

We all know who deobandis are. They are Wahhabis. The latter on this board should read history and see how sunni islam in the sub-continent has been corrupted by Wahhabis since 1970's when they poured out their petrodollars in support of their vision of islam; to reject everything except what they consider was the way of the salaf and tabi'in.

In this they destroyed countless historical monuments revered by Muslims for centuries in the Middle East.

Naik is product of Wahhabism and is an instrument for the destruction of authentic Islam.

Slaying of Benazir Bhutto must be seen within the same overarching paradigm, their vision to change Islam to their erroneous vision of Islam.

I do not think that we should allow history to continue to divide Muslims today, we ought to agree to disagree about the events that have lead us to being Shia or Sunni.

For our part as Shia, we ought to avoid cursing and attacking those who Sunni hold in esteem, even when we are faced with provocation by people like Dr. Naik. Remember the vast majority of Sunni see us as brothers and sisters, I am convinced of that with my personal encounters with Sunni who have become good friends.
Those like Dr. Naik represent a minority fringe, and we ought not gift them the power to cause division between us.

Thanks for the link, Gursevak. When the Sunnis learn more about Zakir Naik, they will wish to distance themselves from him. He is a Saudi tool for spreading Wahhabism.

Tahir's link states that ZN was sorry for hurting the feelings of some Muslims. He does not retract his sentiments about Yazid. He cannot. Yazid is his Imam. In another thread, Muslim First refers to Muhammad b. Abdul Wahhab as Imam. Perhaps ZN sahould be asked how Prophet would have felt if he had conveyed the news of him killing Hussain personally to Prophet.

Wahhabis have clearly idetified themselves with Muawiya and Yazid against Ali and Husain. In fact, in this they are worse than the Khwarij. The latter tried to do away with Muawiya too.

Syedna was wrong and anyone who curses Khalifas are wrong, but with historical facts being, Imam Husain being a favorite grandson of the Prophet and anyone hurting him should be condemned for that.

Naik seems to be influenced by Ahmad Deedat and copies his style. Peace TV also gives a lot of air time to white converts like Yusuf Estes and Abdul Raheem Green

Omabhatti, I agree however their punishment will be at Allahs hands, we should not allow history to condemn a single Sunni, or Shia to violence or even death.

Instead we ought to foucs on Muslims whether Shia or Sunni who suffer today, may they be in Palestine, Iraq, Bosnia, etc.

I agree with you about the unity. I did not say we should punish and yes it should be left for the day of Judgment but the act should be condemned. You can not condone the atrocities committed whether it is by Yazid or Saddam Husain or Hitler, if anyone has committed those kinds of sins, we have to condemned it
