In today's "Times Of India " there was an article which mentioned that Cama house was purchased by Syedna for 108 crores of Rs. It seems the figure surpassed that quoted by some Builders & Industrialists.
How shamelessly he is spending ill gotten wealth, Amazing !!! . As if it is his own hard earned money !!!! . Real blood suckers .

But Aqa Moula sold his house in Toronto in August/September 2004 to Sh. Abbasbhai Abdulhussein. This house was presumably bought by the Community under the guise of Dawat-e-Hadiya.
Check out the Real Estate Register, Toronto Bohris.!

Sheikh Abbasbhai, who is medical practitioner, had previously (long time ago) had sold his house to the Jamaat and donated the funds to the Jamaat to build the first mosque in Toronto

1 crore (karor?) = 10 million

108 carore = 1,080,000,000

@ 45 rupees to a $, 108 crore is $24 million!

With that money, I could buy two beach houses in Malibu!! What do you think the Cama House site will be used for. Pretty cheap for a soon to be needed "Raudat Burhaniyya", if you ask me!

Not unless it has a dome on top.....

Just curious as to why this impressive acquisition is not published on any of their websites [if I missed it, I stand corrected], while shaking hands with a wrestler made headlines.

Inquiring minds want to know.....

If the news is not on their websites then it's obvious that it's not a "clean" deal. There is nothing to crow about. Where is the pride in spending an obscene amount of money on a piece of real estate. It would seem that even the shamefaced clergy has some shame, after all.

So what is more interesting is not that they bought this property but the silence that surrounds it.

So let's try to break the silence. Let's suppose if they had to tell their flock about the purchase, how would they justify it.

"Raudat Burhaniyya" could be a plausible justification.
A commandment from the Imam could be another.

Can anyone think of anything else? - it doesn't have to be plausible, the flock is conditioned to believe anything.

DAWAT E HADIYAH'S IS DIVIDED IN TWO

Based on the recent Saify Mahal news, Estates of the Dawat E Hadiyah is being divided in two parts, one for Aqa moula and Second for Mazon Saheb Khozema Bhaisaheb. Saify Mahal and Badri Mahal will be given to Khozema Bhai Saheb. The new Burhani Mahal (being bought from Cama family in 108-crores) will become the place for Aqa Moula and Shezadas in coming months. Badri Mahal is being renovated removing all offices to hand over to Mazoon Saheb in few months.

Why this is being done?
Reason is that the Late Sayedna Taher Safuddin Saheb had promised in writing to make Khozema Bhai Saheb the 53rd Daiul Mutlaq. Becuase of this written document, Sayedna Mohammad Burhanuddin Saheb is unable to do NUS to any one else. He was waiting for the early death of Khozema Saheb (cancer), but it appears that Khozema Saheb may survive longer than the Sayedna and further wait may not help any one. The power struggle was going on for the last many years and was becoming severe in the last few years. Both parties were ready for the show down but some how compromise formula was found out and both parties agreed to the solution in writing. The Vasiyat of Late Sayedna was bought over and sold in Crores of rupees.

One can guess easily why the Shilo fitre rate has gone up to $19 when the other Muslims are paying only $8 and vajebats in thousands and our 95-years old Aqa Moula has to travel Africa, Dubai and Kuwait again and again!

Have the powers that be acknowledged that they have bought Cama House? I heard that it's not true and just a rumour. Any 'official' confirmation ?

Which is True ?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Times of India, 3rd October 2004

MUMBAI: Cosy Corner, one of the city's landmark bungalows at Doongersey Road (off Napean Sea Road) owned by the Camas of Mumbai Samachar, has finally found a buyer after three years.
Experts tracking the property market told TOI that the prime plot, sprawled across 6,722 sq yards behind Elizabeth Nursing Home, was sold a few days ago for an astronomical Rs 108 crore.
According to market reports, the buyer of this 'top-class' piece of real estate is none other than the Syedna's family. The 93-yearold Syedna is the leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community.
"As far as my knowledge goes, this is the highest price that any bungalow has fetched in Mumbai so far," said a senior official of a leading private bank.
The Syedna already has a huge mansion on Napean Sea Road in which he lives. TOI repeatedly contacted his office at Badri Mahal on Saturday for confirmation of the reported purchase of Cama house.

The Times of India 24th June 2011 :

MUMBAI: In 2004, the Cama family of Mumbai Samachar sold its sprawling bungalow, Cosy Corner, behind Elizabeth Nursing Home (off Nepean Sea Road) for Rs 108 crore to the Satellite Group. The two-storeyed Cama bungalow, constructed in the 1920s, had close to a dozen rooms and a porch that overlooks lush, spacious gardens. Heritage buffs and city historians were dismayed when the developer demolished it and build a luxury residential tower.

Is Satellite Group owned by Kothar ? Is it into real estate business.

Hi SBM
I checked on internet and developer’s website, Also I dint come across any link where connection betweens satellite group and Kothar is established.
In the picture provided in the link, shows a high rise tower coming up, but I m not sure if its on the same plot as “Cosy Corner” Cama House plot.
One can check on the google maps or wikimapia, the tower is almost complete ! search for “Elizabeth Nursing Home, Mumbai” to see the original tower.

Can anyone from Mumbai please find out about this property. It seems to be exclusive and would be awesomely expensive.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Cama bungalow developers to revise tower plans

TNN Feb 23, 2006, 12.18am IST
MUMBAI: Plans for a residential tower at the site of the erstwhile Cama family bungalow, Cosy Home at Doongersey Road on Malabar Hill, will undergo major changes. …………………………………. The subject property which was worth Rs.102 crores in 2004 could now be worth more then four times the amount as reality prices have sky rocketed in mumbai especially in niche areas like nepeansea road, malabar hill where there is NO open plot available, hence old bungalows fetch unimaginable price. The saifee mahal itself could be worth not less then Rs.2,500 crores !!

Regarding cama house, it is quite possible that the dai's family could have bought it and in turn sold it or entered into a joint venture with satellite group in a benami transaction. They have hundreds of abdes who line up as front men in such dubious deals involving huge amounts. The recent example is a highrise bldg which has come up at dhaboo street (raudat tahera st) near evan-e-huseini. Although the front man is a muslim builder who is also a politician but the project was entirely financed by Qaid Zohar, the dai's son. The flats in this highrise were sold @ Rs.12,500 sq ft in the initial stages. He has also financed a project in surat which is near mohan talkies. This can be verified by the fact that the ownership of over 200 flats in the said project rests with qaid zohar himself although the front man is an abde who works under the name of Babji builders (Iam not sure of the exact name).
