Prophet Muhammad's Existence

Though I am agnostic to Muhammad's real existence and have read many articles from both Islamic and non-Islamic Scholars in favor over the last 15 years, this one is another eye-opener: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122633888141714211.html

Strickingly, the classical Arabic word "muhammad" is a common word meaning "the praised one"; synonymous to "ahmad" (praised). Besides, the real individual or supposedly the prophet of "Allah" (as claimed by some Muslim Scholars) was known by his real name Abu Al Qasim. "muhammad", the praised one, can also possibly refer to an "allah" himself. The quran further mentions that 'muhammad' was not anyone's father (33:40).
