School Denies Admission to Non-Bohra Students.

The one and only free public forum for Bohras. The focus of this forum is the reform movement, the Dawoodi Bohra faith and, of course, the corrupt priesthood. But the discussion is in no way restricted to the Bohras alone.

School denies admission to non-Bohra students

Mathias, though, got the shock of her life when the school put up a notice on the premises which said non-Bohra students would not be admitted from the coming academic year.If that was not all, this year they also announced that even siblings of existing non-Bohra students would not be granted admission in the school, even though the school website claims otherwise, she said. This and such other instructions have been announced at Hasanat High School in Marol, say parents. Parents of non-Bohra students now plan to stage an agitation against school authorities.

Education inspector for the ward P R Pawar said,No school can change their admission policy overnight, there are rules that everybody has to follow.Schools can have their preferences for a particular community but they cannot deny admission to students from other communities.

Parents have regularly been receiving instructions from the management about the changes to be implemented and the latest letter said the dress code for boys will change from February to kurta-pyjama. A parent also alleged that the school was also planning to segregate Bohra and non-Bohra students into two separate divisions for the same class but didnt go ahead with the move after the Parents-Teachers Association went against it.

Parents say they have long been trying to get in touch with the management authorities, but to no avail. We dont even know who the management is.Nobody has ever attended any PTA meetings or signed their name in any notice.Even teachers who have taught in the school since the past ten years have not seen anybody from the management, claimed another parent.

Hasanat school told to rectify admission policy

MUMBAI: The education department has told Hasanat High School, Andheri (E), to stop its discriminatory admission policy and seek approval from its parent-teacher association before effecting a change in students' uniform.

In recent weeks, the department received a flurry of complaints from parents as well as social organizations against the school over its new admission and uniform policy.

Deputy education inspector (in-charge) S K Rathod said: "A school can have a minority quota and admit 51% students from a particular community (Bohras in the case of Hasanat), but no more than that. The remaining seats should go to other communities. This is the rule and schools can't change it suiting their interests. Schools should not divide students along religion."
He said his department served a notification to the school after repeated attempts to draw a response from its management proved futile. "They kept giving us random excuses , which is not acceptable."

On Wednesday, after receiving the notification, the school put a notice on its gate that admission to the primary section will be open to all communities depending on vacancy and uniform will be changed only after consulting the parent-teacher association.

But parents are not pacified. "They are still not ready to admit non-Bohras in the pre-primary section. Who will verify the availability of seats in the other classes? The school must give us a clear answer," said Prithvi Maske, a father.

Last year, the school management suddenly stopped admitting students from the non-Bohra community and a month ago, parents were sent a notice about the change in the uniform for boys studying in the school to kurtas. Parents were agitated by all the blatant demands from the school management and complained about this to the education department.

On Wednesday morning, parents gathered in numbers and shouted slogans in protest against the school.

The school trustee Behlah Badri released a statement on Wednesday afternoon saying, "We are entitled to frame our own policy for admitting students in our educational institution and that is a fundamental right guaranteed under article 30[1] of the constitution...the present agitation is politically motivated and we are entitled to protection under law...we believe in peaceful co-existence."

The controversy at Hasanat School was aired on the TV channel, Sahara news today at around 6.15pm. It showed parents staging a protest alongwith placards. A parent said that if this discrimination is not removed and if kurta/saya uniform rules are not eliminated then he will go on a hunger strike.

Bro Regal,

It was a non bohra parent sadly and it is far fetched to expect a gullible bohra standing up against any ills of the administration as they are used to slavery and will spend the rest of their lives under fear, threat and coercion due to social obligations. Its time before they develop balls to fight these evils.

India claims to be a secular and tolerant state and when its NRIs get curry bashed overseas India shows off its diplomatic arrogance and threatens terms of trade ...yet when it own nationals discriminate against its own public there is no hangama ?

It is interesting to see how this pans out but what an excellent timing right during the Milad...is this not a time for PDB to think politically and exploit the situation by making public statements siding with the victims and offering alternatives and making Kothar look the evil ?

bro gm,

it would be interesting to know why the school is denying this permission. knowing the sinister machinations of our kothar, surely there is an ulterior money motive. once all the non-bohras are removed, it will be easy to close the school and sell off the land and bldg. for a fat sum. or perhaps then bully the bohra parents for arbitrarily raised school fees, against which they dare not complain.

whatever the motive, clearly one more bohra institution of learning is due to close its doors and go down the gutter. but perhaps that is where most bohras belong, considering that they are not even allowed to touch the ponga 'royalty' without a rumaal in between, unless except there is a fat envelope to take its place!

In the final meeting with parents of students studying at Hasanat High School in Andheri (E), the management has refused to change its admission policies. On Wednesday, two trustees of the school, along with the principal, met with four selected parents and told them that they would not admit students from the non-Bohra community into their pre-primary section any morethey said. "They have stopped admissions for pre-primary section and parents will never know if seats in other classes are available or not," said one agitated mother. Parents had also protested against the school's decision to change the boys' uniform to kurtas and trousers. The management said they were trying to impart the "The Indian Look". They won't allow Indians in the school, but are trying to promote Indian culture. What use is that?" said the mother
Parents said that after the meeting, principal Pramila Kudwa proposed to resign from her post.

The city has several convent schools. If they stop admitting students form other communities, half the city's population will be without schools. An education institute can't take such communal stand. The education department should act to curb such practices," said another parent.

In their hatred for Muslims, abde bohras quite often use the phrase "Miya Ki tangdi unchi". They forget that at times their own spit falls flat on their faces. A case in point is this hasanat school controversy. After keeping their "tangdi" unchi for quite some time, they got tired and were compelled to lower down their "tangdi" :-

"The management of Hasanat High School in Andheri (E) said on Friday that it will not change the school uniform of the boys from shirts to kurtas. It added that non-Bohra students will get admission in standards I to X if seats are available. However, several parents of non-Bohra students have pulled their children out of the school and are seeking admission elsewhere".

Well this is exactly what the regime waants. There are several ways to eliminate parasites - I prefer to
remove whatever the parasite needs to survive.
In the case of TUS and the TUS-Alikes, the clearest solution is to cut off what they need: MONEY.
stop giving them money, stop groveling, stop living in fear and slavery - stand up and walk away.
Islam, society, family, the world does not revolve around a group of heinous and hypocrite old men
who have twisted the name of Islam for their benefit.

To be Muslim doesn't require allegiance to any human - much less the egregious monsters that
inhabit Badri Mahal.

Wake up Bohris and save your self-esteem and your money for your loved ones.

Again I ask what has the PDB done to capitalise on this issue and provide the victims alternative admission..so as to clear the name that not all Bohras behave like Abdes ?
